Swordfish à à à à à In the opening scene of the film a major character (John Travolta) has a monologue; it is one of my favorite monologues I have ever seen in a film. The scene is carried out in a very interesting way, all the while never losing sight on the main subject. Slight variations in the focal length, lighting, sound and of course the composition of each shot, it is the most well thought out scene in the film. à à à à à Although I am no supposed to discuss the context of the scene, it is what adds a certain level of charm that would otherwise be missed. There is a discussion of the quality of film making in Hollywood, and the character relates his current situation to a quality film, the irony is not stressed which makes it believable. à à à à à The most obvious effect used in the scene, is the use and movement of both the focal length and point. Although moving the focal point can distract from the film and have it deteriorate very easily, but it is not overly done, you are able to concentrate on very particular details in the frame, instead of trying to absorb the whole frame at one time. Also you feel the dialogue is much more important than the image, you not only hear the dialogue but you listen to it. à à à à à The lighting is very well though out, the scenery is slightly dark soft ambient side light giving you a somber feeling also hinting at the time of day giving the viewer a reference point on the time that has passed. What is really important is the lighting on the main character, a soft butterfly light makes him non-threatening and the uninteresting was the face is lit puts more importance on the dialogue. Making the viewer more open to what the character has to say. à à à à à The sounds or lack of sounds in this scene accentuates the importance what is going on. Other than the dialogue every other sound is extremely subtle, light musical sounds and very little Foley work make up the rest of the auditory stimuli. There is one sound effect that is extremely subtle that makes the scene feel scrutinized or watched, that is the sound of an automatic focus changing and trying to catch up.

Big five model â⬠¢ Lewis goldberg proposed a five dimension personality model , nicknamed the big five /five factor theory. â⬠¢ The Big Five model is a comprehensive, empirical, data-driven research finding. â⬠¢ In psychology, the ââ¬Å"Big Fiveâ⬠factors (Five Factor Model) of personality are five broad domains or dimensions of personality which are used to describe human personality. Big five factors are â⬠¢ Factor I: Extraversion. â⬠¢ Factor II: Agreeableness. â⬠¢ Factor III: Conscientiousness. â⬠¢ Factor IV: Neuroticism. â⬠¢ Factor V: Openness to Experience. Factor I: Extraversion Extraversion is characterized by positive emotions and the tendency to seek out stimulation and the company of others. â⬠¢ Extraverts enjoy being with people, and are often perceived as full of energy. â⬠¢ They tend to be enthusiastic, action-oriented individuals who are likely to say ââ¬Å"Yes! â⬠or ââ¬Å"Let's go! â⬠to opportunities for excit ement. Regurgitation: The Life Story of an Anoretic-Bulimic In Wasted: A Memoir of Anorexia and Bulimia (1999), Marya Hombachers testimonial delves into the dark underbelly of her illness; her battle is regurgitated within the text with the same fervor as the disease besieging her body and mind. Marya, divulges her fourteen year long struggle with Anorexia and Bulimia with often macabre honesty. Her story is terrifyingly painful and provides a glimpse into the devastating progression of her illness. Marya was not a planned pregnancy; her parents both actors and directors were both surprised by her conception (Hombacher, 1999, p. 17, 29). I looked at each and settled on both: eat, throw up, starve, scream, skip town, disappear, reappear screaming and skinny, smoke and smoke and smoke (p. 22). Early on, Mar ya associated thinness with wealth, success, self control, and discipline, something she learned from the societal culture she grew up in (Hombacher, 1999, p. 46.) Marya was a mesomorph, not fat, but not skinny, not thin, successful, wealthy, controlled, or disciplined (p. 15). Her experience of growing up in the theater had taught her that nothing was as it seems, and she viewed her body as a costume that could be changed. That the changing of bodies, like costumes, would make me into a different character, a character who might, finally, be all right (p. 31). In fourth grade, Marya begins binging and purging (p. 41). Shortly after her bulimia began, Marya reads a book on anorexia nervosa called The Best Little Girl in the World and she decides when she grows up she is going to become an anoretic (Hombacher, 1999, p. 43). Marya thought bulimia seemed like a decent starting place. Puberty came early for Marya, as her body matured and developed, so did her bulimia.
